The culture of sleeping

In 1978 Rosario Messina founded Flou and with the company found as well the new concept of "culture of sleeping", producing beds with a highly innovative design capable of improving the quality of sleep and life. After that, the company has also extended its production to other furnishing accessories for the bedroom and living area: chest of drawers, bedside tables, desks, armchairs, poufs, bookcases, wardrobes and sofas. Between genius and passion

Bedroom as a dynamic environment

Flou was born in the seventies, an era marked by important changes, such as the entry of women into the world of work, the desire to free themselves from old conditioning and the need to have larger and more functional homes. In this climate of change, Flou leaves its mark with "Nathalie", the bed designed by Vico Magistretti, the progenitor of modern textile beds that with its aesthetic and functional qualities has received a great success and has been part of "permanent collection" of the Milan Triennale for some years.

"The bed is the place where the future is born, where there is a couple's life, where a family is created, where peolple reflects on what will be done tomorrow ..." - and for this reason Rosario Messina, owner of the company, started from the production of beds. He was an enterprising and far-sighted and he has collaborated with the most important contemporary designers: Vico Magistretti, Luigi Lanzi, Steve Leung, Giulio Manzoni, Enzo Mari, Rodolfo Dordoni and many others. With these brilliant creative minds he has created new collections and obtained prestigious awards, including the “Compasso D'Oro” Award from the ADI Design Index in 2004.

Flou currently produces over forty models of beds, including single and double beds, sofas, armchair beds and convertible beds. The different products can be made in fabric, wood, leather, in order to satisfy every type of aesthetic and living need. Animated by the constant desire to offer a complete and functional design in every detail, the company also produces mattresses, pillows and a wide range of colorful duvet covers available in different chic and always trendy patterns.

Alongside the famous production of beds, the company designs complete furniture collections, characterized by an innate elegance and a perfect balance of shapes, materials and finishes.
