From the American Navy to interior design
Emeco was born in Hanover (Pennsylvania) in 1944, acronym for Electrical Machine and Equipment Company and entered the trade immediately after the Second World War, obtaining as its first major order the production of a particular chair, resistant to salt water, which could be used on the ships of the American Navy. In 1998 arrived the intuition of Gregg Buchbinder that, after a meeting with Philippe Starck, realized that it was necessary to allocate the 1006 Navy chairs also in other contexts. It was Starck himself who ordered a large quantity, destined to furnish The Paramount hotel in New York City. Mobilnovo, Emeco official dealer, hosts its creations in its showrooms.
